The Post Master’s Certificate Program prepares nurses with an MSN for independent primary care practice as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in a wide range of settings. Upon completing the program, you are eligible to apply for national certification from the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the State Board of Nursing for licensure as an APN.

Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Post Master’s Certificate Program

To complete your AGPCNP certificate, you will earn 37 credits at Felician University and complete 750 hours of clinical practice and on-campus intensives in designated courses. We will accept transfer credits from another Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by a national accrediting agency:

  • Credits must have been earned within the past five years with a grade of B or higher.
  • The Associate Dean of the Department of Graduate Nursing will determine the equivalency of courses and transfer credits on an individual basis after the student has been accepted into the program.
  • Clinical courses, if considered for transfer credits, must contain the equivalent clinical experience/hours.
  • A minimum of 10 credits must be completed at Felician University.
  • Clinical hours must total 750.
Family Nurse Practitioner Post Master’s Certificate Program

To complete your FNP certificate, you will earn 40 credits at Felician University and 750 clinical hours and on-campus intensives in designated courses. We will accept transfer credits from another Nurse Practitioner Program accredited by a national accrediting agency:

  • Credits must have been earned within the past five years with a grade of B or higher.
  • The Associate Dean of the Department of Graduate Nursing will determine the equivalency of courses and transfer credits on an individual basis after the student has been accepted into the program.
  • Clinical courses, if considered for transfer credits, must contain the equivalent clinical experience/hours.
  • A minimum of 12 credits must be completed at Felician University.
  • Clinical hours must total 750.

Admissions Requirements
  1. Completed admissions application
  2. Master’s Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by a national accreditation agency with a 3.0 or higher GPA
  3. All official academic transcripts
  4. Registered professional nurse license in New Jersey. The licensee cannot have any current or pending disciplinary action against their nursing license from any Board of Nursing
  5. Two professional and/or academic references
  6. Successful completion of graduate or undergraduate courses in:
    • Statistics
    • Health Assessment
  7. Completion of graduate course in Nursing Research
  8. A notarized copy of the photo page of a government-issued identification such as passport or driver’s license
  9. Personal statement
For International Students
  1. A minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL or 550 on the paper-based TOEFL is required of graduates of non-English speaking countries.
  2. International academic credentials are reviewed by an international accrediting agency (World Education Services) on an individual basis.
