School of Business and Information Sciences Holds 1st Annual “Shark Tank” Competition

The School of Business and Information Sciences hosted its 1st Annual “Shark Tank” marketing competition on Thursday, December 7th. Seven teams competed for a grand prize of $1000, donated and awarded by Professor Doug Muir. Each team spent weeks preparing for the competition by researching and compiling their own marketing plan for the upcoming Innovation Lab, currently in the pre-construction phase. The teams presented in Ed Commons to a panel of three judges and in front of an audience of family members, friends, and classmates. Each team was given 15 minutes for their presentation, followed by a series of questions from the panel.

The winning team consisted of students Angelika Kruzel, Jalissa Montegomery, and Julianna Longo.The second place team, with members Shaker Assaf, Grant Rodriguez, and Gonzalos Maldonaldo, was awaarded a $500 prize.”Last night was huge success and a great learning experience for the students and myself,” reflected professor Doug Muir.
