Felician University’s School of Education Partnership Hosts Motivational Speaker

On September 4th, Felician University sponsored an on-campus faculty convocation for dozens of educators and leaders from across the community. This professional event included Felician University’s International Center for Autism and disabilities Research in Education (I-CAdRE), No Barriers USA, and the South Bergen Jointure Commission, all working together to best educate students in the “least restrictive environment” where they are spending as much time as possible with their typical peers.

The inspiring keynote address was delivered by Erik Weihenmayer, the co-founder of No Barriers USA. He is an American athlete, author, and motivational speaker who happens to be the first blind climber ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

In alignment with Felician’s core values, the University looks forward to building strong relationships with schools and organizations to assist in the development and implementation of advanced educational programs for children with varying abilities across all learning communities.
