Marylynn Snyder, PhD

Field(s) of Interest/Expertise

My research interests are in the fields of microbiology and molecular and cellular biology. As a graduate student, my thesis research focused on eukaryotic DNA replication utilizing the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system. My postdoctoral research included studies of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway and its role in transcriptional regulation of cellular differentiation and breast cancer metastasis. Currently, I am interested in cytokines that promote breast cancer metastasis through activation of the transcription factor Stat3. I am also exploring the role of Stat3 in cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
