What is the Accelerated Degree Program?

Accelerated Degree Program

The Accelerated Degree Program is a non-traditional program serving adults age 25 and older who have already completed an Associates Degree or equivalent with a cumulative 2.0 GPA or better. One night per week over a twenty-month period provides the adult learner with the opportunity to earn 48 semester hours of credit in class and receive up to as many as 30 additional semester hours in Credit for Prior Learning. Classes are taught in a manner that is conducive to learning for adults. An atmosphere of shared family, career, and age interests develops among the adult learners.

The Accelerated Degree Program enables adult learners to develop:

  • interpersonal skills
  • written and oral communication skills
  • problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • understanding of research techniques and applications
  • self-knowledge and self-image growth
  • self-reliance and leadership skills
