Student Leaders Elected to Executive Board Positions

Nursing Students on Lodi Campus

Two Felician College students have been elected to the executive board of New Jersey Nursing Students, Inc., a pre-professional organization representing nursing students in the state. Franckel Gabriel was elected as Second Vice President, while Ronnie Cahill was elected Secretary.

“I wanted to become more involved and to make a difference in my profession,” said Ms. Cahill. “This is quite an honor for me.” Mr. Gabriel, who served last year as Membership/Nominations Director on the Board, agreed. “This is a lot of work but we get to work with fellow students across the state,” he said.

Ms. Cahill will handle the Board’s administrative duties as well as chair the Council of School Participants committee. Mr. Gabriel’s duties will include scheduling speakers for the organization’s annual convention and preparing by-laws. Both students are required to attend the organization’s monthly meetings.

“Having two executive members from the same college is quite an accomplishment,” said Kym Burrows, Instructor, Prelicensure BSN. “It’s good for the students but it’s also wonderful for Felician.”

Said Trish Munno, Instructor, Prelicensure BSN: “Franckel and Ronnie are taking an active role in the nursing professing. It’s important because they are becoming leaders at the state level. We are very proud of them.”
