Felician College Commemorates the Feast of St. Francis with Lecture by
Visiting Professor of Theology from Fordham University
Lodi, NJ -- The
Felician College Division of Arts and Sciences and the Philosophy
Department will present the 2002 Feast of Saint Francis Lecture on
Wednesday, October 9 at 4 p.m. in the Main College Building Lecture Hall
on the Lodi campus at 262 South Main Street. This year's speaker will be
Sr. Judith Marie Kubicki, CSSF, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Theology at
Fordham University.
Sr. Judith Marie's lecture is entitled, "Bonaventure's Theological Legacy:
What the 13th Century Franciscan Intellectual Tradition Can Offer 21st
Century Catholic Higher Education." Sr. Judith Marie Kubicki, CSSF, a
Felician sister from the Buffalo Province, is Assistant Professor of
Theology at Fordham University.
“We are honored to have Sr. Judith Marie as our lecturer this year," says
Dr. Gerard O'Sullivan, Dean of Arts and Sciences. "As a Felician sister
she brings her lived experience as a Franciscan to bear upon her
impressive scholarship."
Sr. Judith Marie received a Ph.D. in Religion and Religious Education
from The Catholic University of America. In 1999, Sr. Judith Marie
published
"Liturgical Music as Ritual Symbol: A Case Study of Jacques Berthier's
Taize Music" (Leuven, Belgium: Peeters). In addition to her doctoral
degree,
Sr. Judith Marie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, a Master of
Arts
degree in English, and a Master's degree in Liturgical Music.
