Felician College Festival Brings the Boardwalk to Rutherford

The scent of hotdogs, fried dough, candy apples and assorted international foods wafted through the air as children and adults alike tried their hand at boardwalk games, browsed craft exhibits, climbed rock walls and slid down the giant slide at Felician College’s Fall Festival on Sunday, September 24, 2000.

On a day that began with a soaking rain and ended with bright sunshine, thousands of people strolled the grounds of the scenic campus on 223 Montross Avenue amid face painters, caricaturists, and clowns. Attractions throughout the day included a gong show, jousting and obstacle course tournaments, an alumni tent party, and a walkathon which raised funds for the Rutherford Community Pantry and the Rutherford Social Services Department
