Felician College
to Hold 9/11 Service of Remembrance
Lodi, NJ—In
observance of the one-year anniversary of the events of September 11,
2001, Felician College will hold a campus-wide liturgy and service of
remembrance on September 11, 2002. The service will be held at 1 p.m. in
the Lodi Campus's Main College Building, in the cafeteria, at 262 South
Main Street. There will be no classes held during the mass so that
students are free to attend.
Students, faculty and staff will come together to "commemorate the memory
of those who lost their lives in the attack, to pray for the families
whose lives have been forever touched by the tragedy, and to pray for
continued healing, strength and peace," said Father Damian Colicchio,
Director of Campus Ministry at Felician College. Coordinated by the
Offices of Campus Ministry and Student Government, the service will also
serve as "a reminder to us all about the importance of loving those near
and dear to us," said Colicchio. "We want to remember that
day--especially for those who died--but also for those who survived," he
noted.
Felician College is a coeducational, liberal arts, Catholic college,
founded in the Franciscan tradition by the Felician Sisters in 1942.
Located on two campuses in Lodi and Rutherford, NJ, Felician College
enrolls 1700 students in 40 undergraduate and graduate programs in the
arts and sciences, health sciences, and teacher education.
