Felician College Top Business Students Elected To Membership In Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society In Business, Management, And Administration

Rutherford, NJ – At an installation ceremony held on April 22, 2002, Sr. Theresa Mary Martin, Felician College President, congratulated the Department of Business on the establishment of a chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, and 16 student inductees.  At the ceremony held on the Rutherford campus, the Felician College chapter received its charter from Dr. William Morgan, current chapter president. Dr. Morgan, together with Dr. Gerard O’Sullivan - Dean of the Division of Arts and Sciences, Sr. Patricia Morris, O.P. - Vice President of Academic Affairs, as well as business department faculty – Professors Beth Castiglia (department chairperson), Dennis Huzey, and Robert Shore, congratulated 16 student inductees.   These students, due to their pursuit of excellence in their academic preparation for careers in business, earned invitations to Sigma Beta Delta membership during the 2002 academic year.

Student business majors who rank in the top 20 percent of the junior, senior or master’s classes, at schools with chapters of Sigma Beta Delta are eligible for invitation to membership in the Society.  Sigma Beta Delta was founded as a national organization in 1994 through the sponsorship of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and was established to provide an opportunity for faculty at institutions with regional accreditation but not specialized accreditation in business to confer on their business, management or administration students national recognition for their outstanding academic achievements.  The Society also encourages and promotes aspirations toward personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.  Through May 14, 2002, Sigma Beta Delta had installed 188 chapters in 42 states and inducted over 18,500 members worldwide.
