Children’s Mystery Writer Della Rowland
to Offer Writer’s Workshop at Felician College

 

Who:        Rutherford, NJ, resident Della Rowland is a children’s author with some 40 fiction and non-fiction books published for ages four through 14.  She is best known for the Clue Jr. mystery series.  Other books still in print are biographies on Sacajawea, Guide to Lewis and Clark, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

About Della Rowland…

Before her writing career, Rowland was a magazine and book editor.  Magazine experience includes Ms, Scholastic News, and Real Estate (Time, Inc.)  Book associations include Andrews & McMeel, Contemporary Press, Silver Burdette, Troll, Kipling Press, and Ariel Books. 

In addition to writing, Rowland visits elementary schools to conduct writing workshops and show slide presentations on her life and career.  To date, she has visited schools in some 30 districts in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.  She also teaches writing workshops to fourth through seventh graders two days a week at the Edison and Robert Waters schools in the Union City district. 

Della Rowland was born in Evansville, Indiana, and lived in Nashville and New York City before moving to Rutherford, NJ, with her husband, three children, two cats, and a turtle. 

She is a member of the Authors Guild and the National Writers Union, and is on the board of trustees of the Friends of the Library of Rutherford.
