About
Success at Felician…The accelerated degree completion program,
“Success at Felician,” cuts through the stereotypical style of education to
offer an academically competitive, interactive learning experience that
addresses the needs of the adult student on a number of levels.
By attending class one night a week, there are no issues of scheduling
conflicts, and courses are designed as cohorts so that class members progress
from class to class as a unit, one 5-week course at a time.
To insure individualized attention, class sizes average 15-18 people per
cohort. “Instruction
is formatted to be interactive so that the primary function of the professor is
to facilitate learning, not just to convey information,” says Anthony Scardino,
Director of the Accelerated Degree Program at Felician College.
For
maximum convenience, all services are streamlined and housed in one place.
Scardino’s office operates as the registrar, advisor, business office
and bookstore.
“We know that adults have multiple commitments and priorities between
jobs and families.
Our goal is to create a process that allows people to just walk in the
door, sit down, and start class,” says Scardino.
While the information is telescoped into five- to seven-week modules that
meet one night a week for four hours, the academic component is no less rigorous
than a traditional degree program.
Students benefit from a unique distributed learning program that combines
traditional classroom instruction with on-line learning.
The 48-credit hour program is fully accredited through the Middle States
Association of Colleges and Schools and the International Assembly for
Collegiate Business Education, and it adheres to the strict guidelines set by
the State of New Jersey for academic degree program.
“Students leave Felician prepared not only to excel in the workplace,
but ready to pursue graduate and professional study as well,” says Scardino.
Established in 2000, Felician’s accelerated degree completion program
will graduate 90 students this spring.
