Giants’ Chris Bober and NFL Attorney Belinda Lerner
to Address Felician College Students on April 10th
|
Lodi,
NJ--New York Giants offensive lineman Chris Bober and NFL Management Council
attorney Belinda Lerner will visit Felician College on Wednesday afternoon April
10, 2002, to speak to students about their careers and personal experiences in
the sports business.
The event will be held in the Lecture Hall of the Main College Building
of the Lodi Campus at 1:00 P.M.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Chris
Bober is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, who attracted the attention of the
Giants due to his outstanding collegiate career which earned him honors as a
two-time All-American selection by Daktronics/SoSida and as a first-team
All-American selection by both the American Football Coaches Association and the
Football News.
Originally signed by the Giants in 2000 as a free agent out of NCAA
Division II Nebraska-Omaha, Chris has steadily climbed the Giants’ depth chart
at both left tackle as well as center on the punt team.
With the recent release of veteran left tackle Lomas Brown, Chris has an
excellent opportunity to earn the starting left tackle position for the 2002
season.
Belinda
Lerner has been an attorney with the National Football League Management
Council since July 1993 and was the first female attorney to hold that position.
In this position, Ms. Lerner has lent her expertise to many NFL teams
concerning arbitration, collective bargaining, and various employment issues.
She also led the team of attorneys that negotiated the NFL’s collective
bargaining agreement with the union representing NFL game officials and
continues to represent the league in all labor matters regarding the game
officials. Ms.
Lerner was recently appointed by NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue as a League
Compliance Officer responsible for overseeing and enforcing the NFL’s
employment policies, including its Ethics Policy and its Anti-Harassment and
Discrimination Policy.
