Felician College Welcomes New Director of the Division of Health Sciences

Lodi / Rutherford, NJ – Muriel M. Shore, Ed.D., R.N., C.N.A.A., has been appointed Director of the Division of Health Sciences at Felician College.  Dr. Shore brings along a wealth of experience in both educational and health care settings as she joins the Felician College family.

Dr. Shore earned a B.S.N. and M.S.N. from the Seton Hall University College of Nursing, and earned a Doctorate in Education from the Seton Hall University College of Education and Human Services.

For the past three years Dr. Shore has served as the Director of Health and Rehabilitation for the County of Essex and the Chief Executive Officer of the Essex County Hospital Center.  She also serves as a partner in the Mosaic Group, L.L.C., which is a consultant group specializing in all facets of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations standard compliance.  Dr. Shore has also served on the faculty of area colleges and universities and on the nursing/administrative staffs of several local health care centers.  She is certified in Advanced Nursing Administration and as a New Jersey School Nurse.

In 1997 Dr. Shore was appointed by Governor Christine Todd Whitman to serve on the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.  In 1988 Dr Shore toured the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics as Visiting Professor and Study Tour Leader.  During 1982, 1983, and 1984 she toured the Peoples Republic of China as a Visiting Scholar sponsored by Seton Hall University.

Dr. Shore is presently the mayor of the Township of Fairfield, New Jersey.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors and the New Jersey League of Municipalities. 

Felician College is a coeducational, Catholic college, founded by the Felician Sisters in the Franciscan tradition.  Located on two campuses, in Lodi and Rutherford, N.J., Felician College enrolls 1500 students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Arts and Sciences, Teacher Education and Health Sciences.
