Music Majors Perform Favorite Works

Music majors featured in Spring Semester's first "Works in Progress" program.

Ten Felician College music majors offered vocal and instrumental performances during the first of the Spring Semester’s “Works in Progress” programs held in the Castle reception parlor on the Rutherford campus.

Performing students were Lindsey Cabiaza, Stephanie Dorcely, Desiree Garcia, Skye Goins, Lila Greenstone, Lauren Hunter, Steven Mal, Teirrah Neal, Nicole Shershen and Xiamara Reyes.

The musical pieces presented were Concertino for Tenor Saxophone: excerpt for First Movement; Romance (Saint-Saens); Skylark (Hoagy Carmichael); Prelude in Db major Opus 28, no. 15 (Chopin); Homeward Bound (Jay Althouse); Ch’io mai vi possa (Handel: Siroe); Etude for Guitar in E Major (Sor); Guinse alfin il momento (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro); Love, Look Away (Rodgers & Hammerstein: Flower Drum Song); and Lascia ch’io pianga (Handel: Rinaldo).

Dr. Barbara Gordon, Associate Professor and Music coordinator, organized the event, and Mark Yolleck accompanied the student musicians on piano.

The semester’s second WIP Concert is scheduled for mid-April. Upcoming performances include:

March 10: “We are the Music Makers” – Lodi campus library

May 7: Felician College Choir Benefit Concert: “Salute to Broadway”

May 8: Felician Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble: Spring Concert
