Felician Students Reap Benefits from Golf Classic
Clear skies, mild temperatures, and eager golfers helped to make Felician College’s 27th Annual Golf Classic a brilliant success. The event, held at Arcola Country Club and co-chaired by Jay Fowler, Global Enterprises Meadowlands and Gary A. Perazzo, Modern Floors Co. Inc., raised more than $110,000 in support of the College’s scholarship fund.
The event’s committee included Jeff Feagles, New York Giants In Studio Pregame and Postgame Analyst; Lawrence Inserra III, Inserra Supermarkets; John J. Mazur Jr., Elegant Desserts; Louis G. Intorre, Merrill Lynch; Maria Romano, The Provident Bank; and James J. D’Agostino, JD Companies.
In addition to a relaxing game of golf, participants took part in contests including Break the Glass, Putting Green, Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin as well as a live auction. Brogan Cadillac Oldsmobile Corp., Park Ave Acura, Park Ave BMW and Jack Daniels Motors, Inc. donated cars for the Hole in One contests.
The evening culminated with a lavish cocktail reception sponsored by Capital One Bank, Century 21 Construction Corp., PSE&G and Inserra Supermarkets. Elegant Desserts provided the evening’s sweets course.
Scholarship recipient Lauren Hunter addressed the event’s participants at the reception. “Your generosity has enabled me to pursue an education that I would not otherwise have been able to do,” said Hunter, a music major. “I want to thank everyone in this room and Felician College for giving me this chance and for the unending support you’ve shown me and my fellow students. Thank you from all of us.”
