Felician Golfer Named to All-District First Team
Felician College junior Chris Zito, of South Hackensack, has been voted to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's At-Large First Team for District 1 in NCAA Division II, as coordinated and selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Zito is a member of the men's golf team, the only sport sponsored by Felician that is eligible for At-Large consideration. He is the first Golden Falcon golfer in the eight-year history of the program to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District, and the sixth Felician student-athlete so honored in academic year 2012-13. As a First Team selection, Zito, will move on to represent Felician on the Division II Capital One Academic All-America® ballot.
In 2012-13, Zito played in all 11 tournaments for Felician, totaling 20 rounds. As the team's No. 4 player, he produced a scoring average of 89.7 with a low round of 82. His best score in a 36-hole event was 170. Zito tied for 37th place in the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship tournament, shooting 88-85-173.
