Felician College Grad Named NJ Distinguished Student Teacher of the Year

Felician College graduate Ed Bodnar was recently recognized as one of 16 New Jersey Distinguished Student Teachers of the Year. This prestigious award is given by the N.J. Department of Education annually.

Bodnar, of Lodi, was the valedictorian of the Class of 2012, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.

“Ed took several classes with me and his work was always superlative,” said Carl Lane, Ph.D., professor of history at Felician College. “I believe that Ed will turn out to be an extraordinary teacher and a super role model for his students. He is easily one of the finest students to come through Felician College.”

Bodnar was among a group of students nominated by each of the 25 NJ colleges and universities, and selected by a panel of eight educators from throughout the state. The recipients were honored at a ceremony sponsored by the NJ Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (NJACTE) at Rider University on Wednesday, June 27.
