Ruvanee Vilhauer, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Psychology and Chairperson

Field of Interest

I am interested in stigma and its relationship to self-concept and mental health. My research falls within the subfields of health and clinical psychology, with some overlap into social psychology. My creative writing deals with immigrant experiences, including those involving prejudice and discrimination, and the interaction between self-concept and Sri Lankan sociocultural concerns, including race, class and the colonial legacy.
