School of Business & Information Sciences Hosts Sigma Beta Delta Induction Ceremony

RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician University School of Business & Information Sciences (SOBIS) hosted its annual Sigma Beta Delta induction ceremony on May 1 at Michael’s Riverside in Lyndhurst, NJ. Thirty-one new inductees were welcomed into the international honor society.

Dr. Mildred A. Mihlon, Felician University President, praised the academic achievement of the inductees, stating, “To all of the inductees, you’ve raised the bar with your hard work and dedication. You are well on your way to leaving a legacy that will carry on for generations of Felician students.”

Dr. Marilu Marcillo, Dean for SOBIS, along with Dr. Anthony Scardino, Associate Dean, Dr. Dave Turi, Associate Dean, and Professor Michael Omansky presented the Sigma Beta Delta pin, certificate, and graduation cord to the new inductees.

Additionally, Dr. Anthony Scardino was honored with the 2024 Spirit Award and expressed gratitude for the recognition. “Great professors have received this award and they have ALL taught me the importance of quality education. I am unbelievably honored.”

The ceremony also featured remarks by Felician SOBIS Alum, Monte Williams ’06, ’16. Williams delivered an inspirational message about personal growth. “Every experience will contribute to how you go through life, he emphasized. “It’s your job to understand how each of these experiences will work together and apply to the output of who you are and what you achieve. You already are who you aspire to be.” Williams is a successful Executive Coach, HR Practitioner, author, and a two-time TEDx & International Keynote Speaker.

Sigma Beta Delta, an honor society for students in business, management, and administration, is represented at Felician University, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
