"Conversations that Matter" Lecture Series

Felician College will present the third installment of its “Conversations that Matter” Lecture Series on Wednesday, April 9 at 1 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of Obal Hall on the Lodi campus.

The topic is “Poverty is a Weapon of Mass Destruction” and will feature discussions on the College’s work at the United Nations and the Felician Sisters Mission in Haiti and their link with the sustainable development work of Catholic Relief Services in the impoverished island nation.

Guest speaker is Kim Lamberty, manager of Catholic Relief Services in Washington D.C. and Founder and President at Just Haiti, Inc., whose aim is to build a fair and equitable partnership between coffee consumers and coffee growers in Haiti.

Felician College is a Non-Government Organization at the United Nations, one of only 25 colleges and universities worldwide to attain this status. Earlier this year, three Felician College students visited Haiti on a week-long teaching mission in participation with the Felician Sisters Mission.
