The John J. Breslin Jr. Theatre is located off the main lobby of the Lodi
campus’ Main College Building. As the main ventricle into the heart of the
building, the spacious lobby serves as both a pathway where friendly hellos are
exchanged as people come and go and as a meeting place where informal seating may
be found. The lobby provides a comfortable place to mingle before and after
productions in the theatre or during intermissions.
The Auditorium is 30 feet high, 160 feet long, and 110 feet wide. Because the
seating area is almost square, it is possible to accommodate 1,300 people with
a good view of the stage from any seat.
Both the proscenium arch and the stage are larger than they would be in any
standard theatre, and the spacious stage permits the use of large choral
assemblies, orchestral concerts, student gatherings, and faculty confabs.
At the back of the stage are storage rooms, set rooms for scenery backgrounds,
and ample dressing rooms.
Lighting units with multiple circuits provide illumination for many purposes in a
theatre/auditorium with elegantly simple decor.
