About the Coach

Bob Symons was hired at Felician to start an Athletic Program in 1993. Since that time, the Athletic Department has grown from a one-sport team program, to an eight-team athletic program moving from the NAIA National Level to NCAA Division II competitive level. Coach Symons brings 20 years of coaching and Athletic Administration to the program.  Having found great success in the area of Cross Country and Track, Bob coached a three-time Olympic Gold Medal winner from 1984-1996, five National Champions, and over 40 All American Cross Country and Track Athletes. Coach Symons received a B.S. degree in Physical Education and Sociology from William Jewell College (1977) and a Masters degree in Sports Psychology and Administration from the University of Kansas (1980).
