There is a
buzz in the air this year at Felician College and it is
the anticipation of the 2001-02 Women's Basketball
team. Led by returning players, seniors Audrey Lundy
(1st team All-Conference last season), Caran
Godwin and Sandy King, junior Patricia Dennis and
sophomores Pam Barcia, Nicole Doran and Dana Giaimo form
the nucleus that will make for an exciting season this
year. Joining these players are newcomers Tysell
Bozeman, a Division I transfer fro the University of
Arizona, Lori McDermott, a junior college transfer from
Brookdale Community College and sophomore Latrice
Blakely from Long Island City, New York.
Head Coach
Ben DiNallo, Jr. believes that the Golden Falcons are
capable of being one of the better teams in the Central
Atlantic Collegiate Conference this year. "Although we
aren't the biggest team in the league, I believe that
with the addition of Bozeman and McDermott, we have
tremendous depth in the backcourt," said Coach DiNallo.
"Audrey Lundy will move to a forward position this year
to take advantage of her ability to play both inside and
outside. Patricia Dennis is one of the most under-rated
post-players in the conference."
Coach
DiNallo and the Golde Falcons are looking to improve
upon their 11-16 record and seventh place finish in the
conference from a year ago. With the strong core of
returning players mixed with the exciting new additions,
the women of Felician are primed and ready to challenge
for top honors this season.
