Master of Science in
Nursing Program Admission Criteria
The Master of Science
in Nursing Program (MSN) prepares Registered Nurses for primary care
practice as Family or Adult Nurse Practitioners. The program is
designed with multiple entry points to permit ease of access for
students.
THE BRIDGE
LEVEL STUDENT: Graduates of associate degree or diploma
schools in nursing who hold an R.N. license and at least 58
liberal arts credits with a 3.0 GPA may enter the program at
the Bridge or transition year.
After the Bridge Year, students may move directly in to the
Graduate Year or complete requirements for the BSN first.
THE PRE-MSN
STUDENT: R.N. graduates who have not completed 58 liberal
arts credits and/or who may test out to earn selected nursing
credits to meet requirements.
THE GRADUATE STUDENT:
Graduates with Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degrees with a
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. These students must have
completed undergraduate courses in nursing research,
statistics, patho-physiology, and health assessment.
THE POST GRADUATE
STUDENT: Nursing graduates who already hold an MSN may
enroll in the Post-Master's Certification Program. An
individually tailored curriculum of study can lead to a
certificate as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
