Dr. Barron is in her fourth year of leadership with the Division of Teacher Education which has grown by over 40% during her tenure. She has also developed and implemented the Masters Program and is working to add a program in Early Childhood Education and in Mathematics N-12. In keeping with a commitment to provide continuous learning programs for teachers, Dr. Barron has created a professional development program with Passaic City Schools, two schools in St. Croix, and with other nearby districts.

Dr. Barron’s professional positions have included elementary and junior high teaching in an urban setting, principal/director of curriculum and instruction at a school for high school and junior high school emotionally disturbed adolescent males, and director of a school for severely handicapped students 6 months to 21 years of age. She has also served as the Director of Special Education and Public Personnel Services in a suburban school district. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Barron specialized in pre-service teacher education and non-traditional educational leadership, especially in the areas of change, technology, and addressing diversity issues in our schools. 

In addition to her administrative responsibilities, Dr. Barron enjoys teaching, advising and supervising.

Following a 17 year technical and administrative career in the Air Force and aerospace industry, Professor Brown entered public education via the Mahwah, NJ schools where he had a 23 year career as a teacher (4 years), principal (11 years), and assistant superintendent (8 years). As a teacher, he taught fifth and sixth grades, and as a principal he was responsible for both a primary and intermediate school. He holds New Jersey certification as an elementary school teacher, as a teacher of secondary school mathematics, as a principal and school administrator, and as a provider of student personnel services. 

Professor Brown served on or chaired numerous committees which dealt with issues such as curriculum (all subject areas), goals and objectives, standardized testing, staff selection, policy, negotiations, special education and building construction. He retired from public education in August 1994 and has served Felician College since September 1997 as a supervisor of student teachers, as instructor of the freshman and sophomore field experience/seminar, and as an advisor to undergraduate students.

Dr. Dorsa is currently a supervisor of student teachers at Felician College and a professor of education law courses in the Master's program. In addition, he serves as a voluntary mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey.

His 40 year career in education includes positions as a teacher, vice principal and principal in the Oakland, NJ Public School District. He taught at Seton Hall University in the School of Education, the HoHoKus School for Medical and Secretarial Services, and served as interim principal in Franklin Lakes when emergency conditions arose. 

Dr. Dorsa had a private law practice and served as the Public Defender in the Mahwah Municipal Court following his services as a member of the Township Committee of Mahwah, NJ.

Professor DeGroot has served as an instructor at William Paterson University over the past six years specializing in the areas of literacy, reading and language arts. She also served as a reading tutor for at-risk students and as a  substitute teacher teaching at every grade level from preschool through high school.

Professor DeGroot is a member of Pi Lambda Theta, the International Reading Association and its honor society, Alpha Upsilon Alpha, the national Council of Teachers of English and the National Association for Multicultural Education.

Professor Stern-Einzig is a specialist in the area of special education, having served as a disabilities specialist for the Westchester Community Opportunity Program and the Westchester County Department of Health working with pre-school children, their parents, teachers and other support personnel. 
Before that, she was a learning specialist at The Whitby School in Greenwich, CT where she instructed children ages 2-12 with a specific focus in reading.

For over ten years, Professor Stern-Einzig served as an administrator and professor at the Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus working with both the undergraduate and graduate students in the Art Therapy Programs.

She is a member of the Association on Higher Education and Disability, National Association of Social Workers, American Art Therapy Association and American Psychotherapy Association.

Dr. Freeman has served as an adjunct professor of special education at William Paterson University, Kean University, and Felician College, and is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Division at Felician College. She also serves on the Advisory Committee on Disability of Bergen Community College, Paramus, NJ. 

For 17 years, Dr. Freeman was Executive Director of Early Childhood Learning Centers of New Jersey, private schools for students with significant learning disabilities. Along with providing innovative individualized instruction, she developed programs to enhance social development, after-school recreation, pre-vocational readiness, work-study, and post-21 supported-employment services. She also served as principal and learning consultant at ECLC for nine years. 

Her other professional positions have included: director of a day-care and pre-school in Woodmere, NY; Head Teacher at Maimonides Institute in Far Rockaway, NY, a school for disturbed teens; Assistant Director of Therapeutic Recreation, Kingsbridge House, New York City; and a teacher at PS 44, Queens, NY.

A presenter at educational conferences on a range of subjects, Dr. Freeman has also authored papers published in a variety of journals and publications.

Dr. Freeman holds New Jersey certification as a School Administrator, Principal/Supervisor, Learning Disability Teacher Consultant, Teacher of the Handicapped, and Nursery School/Elementary Teacher. Her affiliations include: Council for Exceptional Children, Council for Administrators of Special Education, Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Association of Schools and Agencies for the Handicapped (a founding member and former officer), and National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children.

Dr. Garcia serves as a school psychologist for the Bergen County Special Services School District where she counsels students, consults with parents and teachers, manages a case load, intervenes in crisis, and give psychological assessments. She has also been a Bilingual School Psychologist for the  New York City Board of Education and the Weehawken Board of Education. 

Dr. Garcia began her career as a special education teacher working with learning disabled and emotionally disturbed children. After a move to the New York area, Dr. Garcia then taught in bilingual special education programs in West New York, New Jersey and at PS 108 in New York City. She has also worked in a home-based program with developmentally delayed infants through the Challenge Infant Developmental Center in Brooklyn, New York.

To complete her PhD, Dr. Garcia did her dissertation research on "Attitudes and Practices of Parental Involvement among Hispanic Parents."

Professor George taught elementary school in Teaneck, NJ for 25 years. During her tenure there, she taught grades kindergarten, one and two, developed and taught an Enrichment Program for children in grades K-2, and assisted in setting up the district's kindergarten school. 

In addition to working as a Student Teacher Supervisor since retiring from Teaneck, Professor George has been a mentor to alternate route teachers, and was a consultant in two charter schools.

Professor Guzzo enjoyed a 36 year career in the Oakland, New Jersey school system. He served an an elementary school teacher, vice principal of an elementary school and principal of an elementary school for 31 years. He was interested and active in elementary school curriculum and helped initiate a Continuous Progress Program in reading and math.

Professor Guzzo served as a member of the Board of Education of the Ramapo-Indian Hills Regional High School District for nine years. He has been a volunteer for the "Mended Hearts" program at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ for seven years.

Professor Hillenbrand recently retired as the Coordinator of Instructional Services at the Bergen Technology Center. His areas of expertise lay in distance learning, teleconferencing, and lesson design using multi-platform technology. He is also interested in social studies education and multiple intelligences.

With an extensive career in classroom teaching, coaching, and building and district administration, Professor Hillenbrand served as Instructional Practitioner for the Academy for the Advancement of Teaching and Management in the New Jersey Department of Education. He is continuing his professional growth in studying Communications Networking through the Cisco Training Academy.

Professor Hillenbrand has frequently presented nationally at the National Council for Social Studies, the National Staff Development Council, and the National Distance Learning Convention. His publications include articles and reviews in the Journal of Staff Development, Social Education, Executive Educator, and Yale University's Encyclopedia of the City of New York.

Upon retirement, Professor Kobuskie joined the faculty of Felician College where he has been a supervisor of student teachers for seven years. He began his career in education as a speech therapist for children with cerebral palsy in Schenectady, NY before moving into the public school system in the same position.

As a principal-trainee, Professor Kobuskie taught first and fifth grades in Ridgewood, NJ before serving as principal there, and later in Westwood, NJ. While at Westwood, he provided leadership for the revision of curriculum in the K-12 system.

During a two-year leave from the Westwood School District, Professor Kobuskie was the Headmaster of the International School in Belgrade, Yugoslavia during the time of Tito. As head of the international board of education, he led a building program to better serve the needs of the transient children of diplomats.

Sister Mary Carmeline Kowalski has been the Curriculum Librarian for Felician College Library since 1972. Prior to coming to Felician College, she taught grades 4-5-6 for 22 years in various Catholic parochial schools in New Jersey and Delaware. She was also responsible for setting up a Spiritual Library at two different locations, has acted as an advisor in establishing school libraries in two parochial schools, and organized a tape library for the Felician Sisters Community. 

In addition to her responsibilities in the Teacher Education Resource Center, Sr. Carmeline takes pleasure in helping students, giving suggestions and just being available when help is needed.

Professor O'Toole taught English at St. Peter's Prep and Snyder High School in Jersey City, and Latin and English in the public schools of West Orange. He served as a vice principal and principal at Memorial High School and as an elementary school principal at Ridge Road School in Cedar Grove.

As the chairman of the teams that evaluated six secondary schools from 1971 - 1982, Professor O'Toole was cited for continuing outstanding service to secondary education by the Commission on Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

He holds New Jersey certification as a teacher of English and Latin, 9-12, as an elementary school principal, secondary school principal and school administrator/superintendent.

Over his 35 year career, Professor Ranone has served as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and as president of the national, regional and state IGE (Individually Guided Education). He has also served the Bergen County Governor's School, has lectured at the Academy for the Advancement of Teaching and Technology, and has conducted in-services, conferences and lectures throughout the United States.

Professor Reynolds is chair of the Committee on Core and General Education. She is particularly interested in the areas of mathematics, teacher education, developmental mathematics and mathematics for liberal arts. She is active in course and curriculum development, and has recently developed Felician's teacher education program for certification in Mathematics Pre-K - 12. 

Recent professional activities include participation in an NSF sponsored Workshop in Discrete Mathematics at Virginia Commonwealth University which focused on mathematics for liberal arts students, and participation in the development of the New Jersey Mathematics Curriculum Framework. Presently Professor Reynolds is involved in a NSF supported research project at Rutgers examining students' mathematical thinking in the areas of combinatorics, probability and mathematical modeling.

Professor Rycharski has three roles within the Teacher Education Division. As Director of Field Placements, Professor Rycharski is responsible for securing field experience sites for all teacher education students from freshman through senior year, and for placing pre-service teachers in student teaching assignments each semester. She is currently teaching in each of the field seminars, and has taught Student Teaching Seminar and School Curriculum: Social Studies in the past.

In her role as Certification Officer, Professor Rycharski is the College's liaison with the State Department of Education and recommends Felician's graduates fro teaching certification. And finally, she coordinates various aspects of the TEC Program (Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification) and advises students prior to and during their enrollment at Felician. Prior to joining the TED faculty, Professor Rycharski was Assistant Director of Felician's Division of of Evening and Weekend Programs. 

For more than 12 years before joining the Felician family, Professor Rycharski worked in corporate philanthropy for a Fortune 50 company. She recommended corporate funding for educational initiatives nation-wide, developed scholarship programs, and coordinated corporate-wide matching gift programs.

Professor Rycharski has taught at the primary grade level in urban public and parochial schools in New York City and in private schools for children with special educational needs. She holds the following teaching certifications: New Jersey N-8, New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped, New York Permanent N-6, and New York Permanent Special Education Certification.

 Professor  Salierno has taught at various levels over a period of time in public schools. His primary experience is in the areas of education, social studies and history. He has written curriculum to develop a series of courses in the humanities for the junior and senior high school level. 

At the college level, Professor Salierno has been an adjunct instructor at New Jersey City University and at Fairleigh Dickinson, as well as the Adult Leaning Institute of Bergen Community College.

Professor Sampietro has served in several school districts throughout northern New Jersey as a teacher in grades Pre K - 8, as an education consultant, as a teacher and parent trainer, and as a professional counselor. Throughout her career, she has earned certifications in Physical Education K-12, Elementary Education K-8, Early Childhood Education, Teacher of Handicapped, Learning Disabilities Teacher / Consultant, Guidance Counselor and Supervisor of Education.Guidance. In addition, Professor Sampietro is a licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Counselor for Sports Counseling. 

Her wide range of experiences offers students a broad perspective on a variety of topics and she has a broad background in working with parents to help them help their children succeed in school.

Professor Witowski holds New York State Permanent Certification for Nursery, Kindergarten and grades 1-6, New York City Early Childhood License - Permanent Grades K - 3, and a New York City Ancillary License for English as a Second Language at the elementary level. 

During her 22+ year career with  the New York City Public School System, Professor Witowski  worked with Pre-K through 6th grade children. Her professional career included parochial and public school settings where she held classroom, resource room and administrative positions. 

Professor Witowski expanded her educational experiences through curriculum development, participating in mentoring programs, provided Title I Reading/Writing instructions for grades K - 6 , served as an Early Childhood Resource provider, and as and ESL instructor of K - 6 grade. In addition, she has presented school and district-wide training sessions in reading skills and has video-taped demonstration lessons for teacher- training workshops.
